Windows Defender to be integrated into Windows Vista
In case you don't already know, Microsoft has renamed their anti-spyware software as Windows Defender. Windows Vista is the new version of Windows due out late next year. According to this Blog, Microsoft has announced that it is going to intedrate Defender into Vista, rather than offering it as a free add-on. Sounds great right? I say, not really. Sure Defender offers great security and I think all non-techie people should be running some kind of anti-spyware, but what is Microsoft implying with this decision? Sounds to me like they know Vista will be plagued by many of the same security problems as XP and that it will need the extra help.
